Pink Golf Clubs
I bought this set primarilly for the fact they are pink. They were given to my neice with the hope that because they were pink they would encourage her to use them. So far so good. She loves the fact they are pink and has hit them twice so far on an indoor range.

Perfect for Lady beginners!
I’m 5′3″ in high and I found that these clubs are perfect for Lady petite beginner, specially the wood 3 !!! my favorite!!!,all the clubs are light, the putter is perfect to start the drilling practice in your carpet, the carry bag is small compared to others but that’s good because I don’t want to put much weigh in my back. If you want to start to see if you would like to play Golf, this is a very good option for equipment.

So Far So Good….
The club came in a timely manner, it arrived exactly when they said it would. I will be using the clubs for the time on 1 May, 2008…as I am a complete beginner I have nothing to compare it to, but they feel good when I swing them. So far I am pleased…

Good value for the moey you pay
The package arrived on schedule, and in good condition. My daughter was very excited to get a set with so many clubs, and a bag with legs (she is graduating from her starter set (1 wood, 2 irons, putter).

The club heads/shafts/grips appear to be of decent quality, and should provide a consistent base to learn. The grips are not too skinny or hard, and will provide good feel, without having to hold too firmly.

My only complaint was with the alignment of the grips - usually most grips, especially for non-pro sets will have a marking for aligning your thumbs/hands.

In the case of these clubs, most of the grips were out of alignment, so that if you lined up based on the grip, the face is either a little open or a little closed. Not a big deal since the kid needs to learn to grip based on alignment of the head at address, and not simply trust a marking on the grip!

So, this is OK for woods/irons which have circular (cross-section) grips. It is a different story with the putter which has a countoured grip. The misalignment here is going to cause trouble. I am debating if I should get her a new putter or attempt to regrip the putter (decent putter with a nice feel)

Very satisfied
I believe that this driver, with the weight distribution system offers great flexibility and versatility. The driver is very forgiving, so even shots that are not exactly on the sweet spot still have a good outcome. I am very happy with this driver.

Very Good, broke after 3 months
This is my third R7 driver. I cracked the crown of the first one (a major crack, about 3/4 inch split right on the top - TaylorMade DID NOT REPLACE IT even though I was within the warranty period) on a drive that endd up being 320 yards. I still own my second R7 460, but the wrong shaft is installed for my swing. Instead of buying a new shaft, I bought the most recent model, the TP Superquad. It came with the original Taylormade “X” extra stiff shaft.

From the first hit, the Superquad TP was rock solid, sounds great as well. The face is open 1 degree, which I like. Very easy to manipulate ball flight (low, high, fade, draw) with he weights set up for straight hits. It’s a very good driver. I think the extra stiff shaft really allowed me to swing hard with confidence

I usually hit the ball a very long way, averaging 280+, and hit a 370 yarder (wind aided) with his driver. On one hit, there was a familiar thunk. The crown cracked - my second cracked R7. This crack was much smaller than the first one, about the size of my pinky fingernail. I can still use it to hit 280+ drives. Although the driver plays great, I simply don’t feel like buying drivers that I have personally experienced failures with and will not purchase another TaylorMade driver.

Very good driver as far as feel, control and distance. Quality control is an issue with me.

3 Wood Hammer
Best fairway wood I have owned. Added 20 yards and hitting it straighter, off sweet spot hits going straighter. Changed the grip to a Winn. Chrome stipe down middle of head helps in alignment. Love this club and would recommend.

I have a Nike NSD 13 degrees driver with a R graphite shaft.
I bought the Hammer driver with 10 degrees and a R graphite shaft (not the 3 wood)

The Nike hits longer (240), straighter more frequently and I even get more roll.
The Hammer feels just like one. I rarely hit it in the fairway and when I do it is less than 200 yards.
It is no longer in my tool belt. I am convinced I can out hit it with my 5 wood.

A sad experience for me.

Great for new golfers
I have used my clubs about 8 time. They work great, no problems. You get a 9,8,7,6,5 iorns, Pitching wedge, Putter, a 5 and 3 wood, and a Hybrid 3/4. The bag has a stand and a backpack strap. The 3 wood has a graphite shaft, all the others are metal. I bought a used set a year before I got this one. So I added my 3,4 iron and my sand wedge.

Excellent Value
Being a first time golfer, I wanted something that was inexpensive till I learned the game and was sure that I want to keep on golfing.
But when I received this set I was very happy to see that it not only looked good but also felt sturdy and not cheap in my hands.
Trying it out on the golf course, I was reassured what a wonderful value I have in my hands. Seeing this, my two other friends have also ordered the same sets themselves.
I would recommend this to any first time buyer till you get the feel of the game and then later move on to more expensive models.

Laser Rangefinder Tech Talk

A laser rangefinder is a distance-measuring instrument that uses laser technology to calculate the distance to targeted objects. Accuracy is +/- 1 yard, and the distance is displayed instantaneously on a built-in, through-the-lens Liquid Crystal Display.

How a Laser Rangefinder Works
Bushnell’s Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is “bounced” off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder’s high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within +/- 1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

Reflectivity of Target Types
Because rangefinders “bounce” a laser beam off the target in order to take a measurement, their range is partially determined by the reflectivity of the target. In other words, hard or “reflective” targets — like a rock cliff or semi-truck — can be measured at greater distances than soft surface targets, like a deer. Ranges for moderately reflective targets, like trees, fall somewhere in the middle. Most experienced hunters will use their rangefinder to frequently estimate ranges to near and distant landmarks before they actually encounter a game animal. By “pre-measuring” ranges to spots where a trophy is likely to appear, they can concentrate on making an accurate shot when the moment of truth arrives.

Great timesaver, and accurate….
The product is accurate, and easy to use. It is a great timesaver in that you don’t have to waste time finding markers and pacing off distances that generally get you to +/- 3 yards at best. The only occasional hiccup is that it is sometimes difficult to catch the flag in front of trees that are fairly close behind the green. Steady hand has not been a problem- either standing or sitting in cart.
